Dopo le forti precipitazioni degli ultimi giorni, assieme ad Alessandro, siamo andati a testare la neve per voi (e per noi).

Le precipitazioni del 9 gennaio sono state molto intense, accompagnate da venti meridionali anche forti, con il limite delle nevicate a quote piuttosto elevate. Il risultato è un manto nevoso piuttosto compatto di spessore considerevole, appoggiato su uno strato più soffice, per cui è meglio non caricare troppo il manto nevoso; la sciata è facile  e veloce sui 15 centimetri della neve soffice che si trova in superficie, ma è bene fare molta attenzione, evitare gli accumuli di neve ventata, peraltro resi poco riconoscibili dalla neve nuova, e dove necessario mantenere distanze di sicurezza ed in caso esser pronti a rinunciare alla gita. Fatte attenzione e buone sciate!

After last heavy rain/snow storm, with Alessandro we went for a ride in order to check snow conditions for you (and for us).

Rain was very heavy in town, with strong winds from  south and a snow limit pretty high for the period. The result is a thick snowpack of 60-70 centimeters upon a layer of softer snow that is source of instability. On top of this 15 centimeters of soft snow where skiing is fast and easy. Given the conditions of the snowpack is necessary to be really careful and evaluate snow conditions constantly during the tour, and be ready to turn back if necessary.
